Another major firmware update for the PlayStation Vita is coming on February 8th in Japan. Firmware version 1.60 will add two major features to the portable console, including a new Map app and the ability to record videos with the existing Photo App, as well as adding Mac OS support.
The Map App will allow you to see your current location and give you driving or walking directions, much like the Maps app on the iPhone or Android. As for the Photo App, which was previously limited to taking only still photos, firmware v1.60 will allow users to record videos to the memory card.
In addition to the above system software changes, the Content Management Assistant will now support Mac OS. Previously, the desktop application was only available on Windows. This is a big change, as the PSP Content Management application, MediaGo only ever supported Windows.
