Sony’s trophy system has been locked to the PS3 and PS Vita so far, but the company is looking to expand its reach. The company reportedly plans on opening up the API to access these features from any PlayStation-certified device using the PlayStation Mobile SDK, allowing developers to add trophies to their games.
Vlambeer, which has been working closely with Sony to bring iOS hit Super Crate Box to PlayStation Mobile revealed that the game will feature triphies and leaderboard, but didn’t specify a timeframe.
It’s not clear if the system will be fully integrated with the Vita and PS3 counterparts, or if it will be a separate entity. But seeing as a SEN account is required to download PlayStation Mobile content, we speculate the former will apply.
