Recently release PS Vita Firmware v1.80 has another undocumented feature. This time, it’s enabled games with local-only trophies to be synced to the PlayStation Network. Free-to-play title Treasures of Montezuma Blitz is one title to benefit from the update.
Launching the title once after updating your Vita to Firmware v1.80 will allow the game’s trophies to be synced. Launching the trophies app and syncing the trophies will then update the PSN tab with your trophies. Previously, the game’s trophies would only show locally – meaning wiping the data on your console would also wipe the trophies.
Alawar Entertainment said before that it was a “systemwide problem for all early-released free games.” And that “Sony is aware of the issue, and they recognised it as their responsibility to fix it in the next Vita firmware update.”
