Sony’s UK boss, Fergal Gara, has said the PS Vita will eventually get a price cut, but don’t expect one this year. As manufacturing costs are reduced, the price of the PS Vita will fall, but until then, Sony is working with retail partners to add value to the PS Vita instead of a straight-up price cut.
“We always aim to establish price cuts,” he said. “So the question is not so much if, but when. We won’t have an across the board price down this Christmas.” You can expect a number of bundles to launch this Christmas offering great value. Bundles like LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation are just a few announced so far.
