The PlayStation.Blog recently held a Q&A session with Robert Huebner, head of Nihilistic, who are developing the PS Vita exclusive title. The interview reveals new details about the game since the first trailer of the title was show off at Gamescom back in August. New details include weapon modding, perks and information about the single-player missions.
To summarize the interview, the visuals of the game have been improved since the initial trailer at Gamescom. The game now uses “a richer color palette, more detailed models, and better lighting overall.”
With regards to weapons, many of the attachments from previous games will be available in the PS Vita version, including fan favourites such as suppressors, extended mags, grenade launchers, and different optics. New attachments, like improved grip and adjustable stock will be added to the game, and can be unlocked by leveling up weapons in multiplayer.
The game has a total of 12 Perks, with a mix of returning and new abilities. Hardline, Marksman, Sleight of Hand, and Lightweight are all back, but new perks like Surplus (extra starting ammo and grenades), Hardwired (immune to Counter Spy Plane) and Toughness (reduced flinching when shot) have been added.
“The single-player campaign consists of intense and replayable objective-based missions that allow you to get better and better over time to improve your performance,” says Huebner. “The goal is to give the player the experience of striving for the ‘perfect run’ through each mission.”
Black Ops Declassified also features Survival missions, called “Hostiles”. ” The player has to survive wave after wave of different enemy types, but also receives ‘care package’ drops during play to keep them supplied,” says Huebner.
