Less than a year since release, the PlayStation Vita has passed the one million units sold mark in Japan. The portable console shifted less than 8,000 units between October 1st and October 10th 2012 – one of the worst selling weeks in Japan – but managed to creep past the one million mark in the process.
The PS Vita was released in Japan on December 17th, 2012 and reached the one million milestone after 10 months on the market. The PS Vita still has a long way to go before it reaches the Nintendo’s 3DS sales of over 12 million units sold since launch, and even further to go on a global scale.
It’s no secret that the PS Vita is struggling in sales, but hopefully Sony’s new initiatives will help increase sales.
