Sony has officially opened the doors to the PlayStation Mobile Developer Programe, allowing third-party developers to start creating apps and games for PlayStation Certified devices, including the PS Vita. The program allows developers to create apps using the PlayStation Mobile SDK and distribute them via the PlayStation Mobile Store for an annual fee.
The PlayStation Developer Program Licence costs just £65/€80 a year, and is available in the United Kingdom, United States, Japan, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Australia as of today. Featuring an easy-to-use SDK with flexible APIs, you could be getting your next game onto PlayStation Mobile sooner than you might have thought possible.
The PlayStation Mobile store currently has over 30 exciting titles from developers of all sizes around the world, but you can expect that number to increase steadily as more developers join the program. The single codebase means you app or game can run on any compatible device without the need to rebuild or redistribute.
