After weeks of poor sales in Japan, the PS Vita has seen a three-fold increase in sales over the last week, likely due to the release of two new PS Vita models. The Blue and Red PS Vita models were released in Japan last week, which has boosted the Vita’s sales figures from 4,000 units to just over 12,000 between November 12th to the 18th.
The new Vita models are only available in Japan at the moment, but if sales continue to rise we can expect the new colours to head West. As usual, the Nintendo 3DS is selling far more units than the PS Vita on a weekly basis. In the same period, the 3DS sold around 170,000 units in Japan.
