The North Americal version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified will include a free copy of Call of Duty 3: Roads to Victory released on the PSP back in March 2007. The game scored just 64% on metacritic but a free game is a free game. The news was revealed by Activision’s blogger Dan Amrich on his blog One of Swords.
Announced at New Your Comic Con over the weekend, Capcom’s upcoming title Street Fighter X Tekken on the PS Vita will include cross-controller functionality. The game will let PS Vita owners controller the PS3 version of the game using the Vita as a controller, and making use of the front and rear touch panels to execute special moves.
Remote Play on the PS Vita lets you connect to your PS3 using a Wi-fi connection or on the go using 3G. This handy feature lets you play compatible games by streaming it to your portable console, access the PlayStation Store to download games to your home console, and even access photos, music and videos on the PS Vita.
Recently released 8-bit open-world title Retro City Rampage is available on the PS3 and PS Vita, and features 14 trophies to unlock, including one gold and two silver trophies. The game is cross-buy compatible so purchasing either the PS3 or PS Vita version will bag you the other version for free.
First announced at the Tokyo Game Show last month, the PS Vita’s Reader app has received a new Japanese trailer showing the features of the app. Reader will hit PS Vita in Japan sometime this month with over 3000 mangas ready for purchase, which can be read in both portrait and landscape mode, supporting touch screen and button support.
A new patch for Resistance: Burning Skies has been released by developers Nihilistic, updating the game to version v1.02. The patch is 19MB in size and adds a number of improvements and fixes to the game. The latest patch can be downloaded from the LiveArea of the game.
Sarah Thomson, senior manager of Mobile Content Acquisition, confirmed that trophies and online leaderboards were coming to PlayStation Mobile. Thompson revealed the news when speaking to Polygon, stating that “it’s a priority for us.” Trophy support wasn’t included with the PlayStation Mobile launch last week, as Sony wanted to release a “minimal, viable product” first.
SCEE has revealed that the PS Vita’s all-new social brain training game, Smart As, will be releasing at the end of this month in Europe and North America. When released, the game will be available for £24.99/€29.99 from local retailers. Smart As features fun and engaging puzzle games to test your mental might, with challenges in four key areas: Logic, Arithmetic, Language and Observation.
Nihilistic Software has tweeted that the North American version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified has gone Gold, while the game in other regions is still in development. The European version will take longer due to the number of languages the game needs to be localised to, but it shouldn’t be too far behind.
Less than a year since release, the PlayStation Vita has passed the one million units sold mark in Japan. The portable console shifted less than 8,000 units between October 1st and October 10th 2012 – one of the worst selling weeks in Japan – but managed to creep past the one million mark in the process.
