Sony’s UK boss, Fergal Gara, has said the PS Vita will eventually get a price cut, but don’t expect one this year. As manufacturing costs are reduced, the price of the PS Vita will fall, but until then, Sony is working with retail partners to add value to the PS Vita instead of a straight-up price cut.

US PlayStation Store Update for October 2nd 2012
The first PlayStation Store update for October is now live in North America, and PS Vita owners have plenty of new content to download. New Little King’s Story is now available for download, along with a bunch of newly compatible PSone classics, which includes a number of Final Fantasy titles. New DLC and a game demo are also available for download this week.
Skype App Updated to v1.50
The Skype app on the PS Vita has been updated to version v1.50, adding a number of new features to the application. The changes include being able to create a new Skype account directly from the device, as well as adding and organising contacts. The update is 11MB in size to download and is available for free.
PlayStation Mobile is Now Live with Over 20 Games and Apps
PlayStation Mobile is now live on compatible Android devices and the PlayStation Vita. Accessing the PlayStation Store on the PS Vita shows the new PlayStation Mobile tab. Over 20 games and apps have launched with the PSM roll-out, with prices from just $0.49 / £0.40.
Burn The Rope Coming to PS Vita Next Week
Ringzero Game Studio has revealed that mobile title Burn the Rope is coming to the PS Vita next week. Burn the Rope is an original game where you must burn as much rope as possible at each level. To start burning the rope you simply tap the touch screen wherever there is rope. Once the rope starts burning you can control the flame by rotating the screen.
Silent Hill: Book of Memories Coming to Europe in November
Konami have announced that handheld horror title Silent Hill: Book of Memories will launch in Europe this November, while the US will get the game a few weeks earlier in mid-October. The game is exclusive to the PS Vita and takes different direction to the game compared to the previous titles.
Stranger’s Wrath HD Coming to PS Vita in November
Just Add Water has confirmed that Stranger’s Wrath HD on PS Vita will launch early to mid-November at the latest. The release window was revealed to Eurogamer in an interview at the Eurogamer Expo over the weekend. The game is two weeks away from submission with Sony, so it is likely to be available in November providing it passes Sony’s QA tests.
Sony Intends to Support PS Vita for 10 Years
IGN recently spoke to John Koller, SCEA’s Vice President of Hardware Marketing, about all things PlayStation. Like the PS3 and PS3 before it, Koller revealed that Sony intends to support the PS Vita for a full 10 years. “We’re in year one, so we’ll be supporting it for some time. But yeah, it does have its own 10-year life cycle,” says Koller.
Table Ice Hockey Trophy List
AR Play title Table Ice Hockey is now available on the PS Vita and features 13 trophies to unlock, including one Gold and three Silver trophies. The title is available to download from the PlayStation Store for only a £1.59 / €1.99 / $1.99. The game requires the Augmented Reality cards that comes bundled with the PS Vita.
Rainbow Moon Coming to PS Vita
IGN has revealed the PSN exclusive title Rainbow Moon is being ported to the PS Vita. Publisher EastAsiaSoft has confirmed that the PS Vita version of the game has recently started development, and the current focus is porting the game over, then looking into adding new functionality.
