Sony has released a new firmware update for the PS Vita, updating the system software to version v1.81. The minor update is mandatory if you want to play online. The only change in this version is an improvement in the system stability, according to Sony.

PlayStation Japan is promoting a very strange PS Vita game called Boxes! Open Me”, that uses augmented reality, expected to be revealed at TGS later this month. LittleBigPlanet PS Vita Patch v1.01 Now Available
LittleBigPlanet PS Vita has been patch, ahead of the game’s official release in Europe this Wednesday, September 19th 2012. Some eager retailers have already released the game ahead of the official launch. The patch updates the game to v1.01 and fixes various bugs and issues with the game, and weighs in at 32MB.
LittleBigPlanet for PS Vita Released Early
Enthusiastic retailers have released LittleBigPlanet for the PS Vita early, meaning people are already seen playing the game on “Near”. Sony is aware of the issue and has released a statement. Gamers who have picked up a copy early will be able to enjoy the single-player mode without restriction, but the online component won’t work until tomorrow, when the servers go online.
PS Vita ISO Loader Video Leaks
It appears that piracy on the PS Vita has arrived sooner than expected. A video has been released showing the PS Vita running a number of PSP ISO / CSO files using a custom loader, probably using the recently discovered exploit, even though it was claimed that the security hole could not be used for piracy.

PS Vita’s latest Discovery App, Ecolibrium, is free to download from the PlayStation Store, and includes unlockable trophies. There isn’t a platinum trophy in the game, but it does feature one gold, four silver and seven bronze trophies.
Jet Set Radio Coming to PS Vita in October
Jet Set Radio is already available to download on the PS3 if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, with the general release coming next week. On the PS Vita however, the game won’t be arriving until mid-October. Unlike the console version, the Vita version of the game comes with platform specific enhancements.
EU PlayStation Store Update for September 12th 2012
New PS Vita games have been added to the European PlayStation Store this week, including the free Ecolibrium App and SunFlowers. There are also new demos and minis available to download from the store, and new PSOne classics compatible with the PS Vita too.
Let’s Fish! Hooked On Coming This Autumn
The PS Vita’s first full-scale fishing game, Let’s Fish! Hooked On, will be coming to the console this Autumn according to Sean Walsh, Product Manager for Wired Productions. Wired recently signed a deal with the developer SIMS to bring the title to the West.
