If you’ve had a PlayStation Vita for a while, you’ve probably come across (or probably will in the future) the flashing blue light error that can occur on the portable console. The blue light on the PS Button continues to flash and prevents you from turning on the system.
Release dates for the liquid based physics puzzler, Puddle, has been revealed for the PlayStation Vita. The game will be released in North America on July 24th 2012, with Europe to follow on August 1st 2012. The game will retails for $7.99 / £6.99.
The PlayStation Mobile Software Development Kit (or SDK) has been updated to version vo.99, adding many new features and changes in the software. One notable addition is a “In-App Purchase” library, allowing developers to add micro-transactions to their applications like on Android and iOS apps.
Later this summer, Pure Chess will be getting a new downloadable chess set which will be offered free to all PSN users. The set will be available in both plastic and metal materials and will be playable in any of the three locations featured in the main game (Museum, Study, and Penthouse).
Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has discussed a potential PS Vita version of upcoming shooter Borderlands 2. During a developer session, Pitchford discussed how the cross-save feature on the PS Vita could be used to “keep developing that same character because it exists on the cloud somewhere.”
Newly formed studio Activision Leeds will be handling all handheld Call of Duty titles going forward, according to Andy Payne, chairman of UKIE. The Leeds studio was established in November 2011, although their projects are a secret. It’s not known whether the Leeds studio is working on Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified for the PS Vita.
YouTube user digitalarts001 has made it possible to run Left 4 Dead with motion controls on the PS Vita, using a custom-build application on the PS Mobile SDK and Remote Desktop. The possibilities with PlayStation Mobile appear to be endless and the video below proves anything is possible on the PS Vita.
The LittleBigPlanet Beta on the PS Vita has come to an end. Booting up the game now returns an error indicating that the beta is over, and prevents you from accessing any of the menu options. If you didn’t get a chance to enter the beta, you’ll have to wait until September 21st to get your hands on the full game.
