Sony have announced a new PS Vita model at their pre-TGS press conference this morning, which has the same internals as the current PS Vita model, but has received a cosmetic make over, and will be available in six colours. The new model, called PCH-2000, is 20% thinner and 15% lighter and will be available in lime green, light blue, pink, white, beige and black.

EU PS Vita Store Update for September 4th 2013
New PS Vita content is available on the European PlayStation Store this week, including a number of new game. New titles include The Walking Dead and Killzone Mercenary. Two new PS Mobile titles are available along with new DLC for LittleBigPlanet and Soul Sacrifice.
Rayman Legends to Receive Patch on PS Vita
The PS Vita version of Rayman Legends is missing content compared to the Wii U version, but luckily the Vita version will be patched to bring it on par with the console versions. The game suffered a two weeks delay on the PS Vita and the Invasion levels are missing from the game, but Ubisoft have confirmed that these will be available “at a later date”.
Killzone: Mercenary Gets Massive Day One Patch
Killzone: Mercenary has received a massive day one patch, updating the game to version v1.01, but only mentioning “stability fixes and performance optimisations”. The patch is 1190 MB in size, increasing the game’s size on the memory card from 3.3 GB to over 4.5 GB, and taking up valuable space.
PS Vita Firmware 2.61 Available Now
Sony has released a new compulsory firmware update for the PS Vita overnight, updating the system’s software to version v2.61. The minor update fixes security exploits within the ‘Arcade’ PSN titles to prevent hackers from running homebrew on the system and pirating games. As the firmware is mandatory, you’ll have to update your console if you want to access the PlayStation Network.
EU PS Vita Store Update for August 28th 2013
A number of new PS Vita games are available on the European PlayStation Store this week, including Real Boxing and Spelunky, and the Killzone Mercenary Beta is now open to all. New PlayStation Plus content is available too, with three new Vita games added to the Instant Game Collection, including New Little King’s Story.
Rayman Legends on PS Vita Delayed Into September
The PS Vita version of Rayman Legends, originally scheduled for release this Friday, has been delayed to September – but luckily it’s only a further two weeks wait. A spokesperson for Ubisoft told Digital Spy “The release of Rayman Legends on PS Vita has been delayed in the UK to September 13 in order to apply the final level of polish gamers expect”.
Flame Over Coming to PS Vita in 2014
Laughing Jackle has announced that a new PS Vita game, Flame Over, is coming to the portable console in Q1 2014. Flame Over is a fast-paced, action-packed fire-fighting roguelike, featuring randomly generated levels and a complex fire simulation that radiates, jumps between objects, consumes fuel and destroys its environment in real time.
Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse Coming to PS Vita
Revolution Software has confirmed that Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse is coming to the PS Vita later this year, among other platforms. The title is the first Broken Sword adventure in six year, and has been backed by over 15,000 kickstarters to fund the development of the game.
Joe Danger 1 and 2 Coming to PS Vita in 2014
PS3 title Joe Danger, and it’s sequel, Joe Danger 2: The Movie, have been announced for the PS Vita and will be coming to the console in 2014. The game has been in development for a little while now, but there is still a lot of work left before the title is ready for release.
