PS Vita exclusive title Killzone: Mercenary has been given an official release date as well as a new gameplay trailer. The game’s store starts just after the original Killzone title with players controlling a mercenary named Arran Danner, a former UCA-soldier who is happy to kill for money.

Cubixx Now Free On PlayStation Mobile
As part of Sony’s “Six weeks of free PlayStation Mobile gaming” promotion, Cubixx is now free to download from the PlayStation Store, making it the third PSM game to be given away for free. The game is playable on the PS Vita and any PlayStation certified Android device.
Sony Giving Demos Away with New PS Vitas in Japan
The original PlayStation benefited from a demo disc included with the console on initial purchase, so it’s good to see Sony following the same initiative with new PS Vita purchases, at least in Japan. Sony is including a PS Vita card containing various demos with new PS Vita’s, giving consumers a look into other games on the PS Vita, including upcoming action RPG Soul Sacrifice.
Wake-up Club Coming to PS Vita Next Week
Wake-Up Club for the PS Vita was first revealed back in April, and we’re happy to reveal that the app will finally be launching in North America next Tuesday. The application will be free to download from the PlayStation Store and will change the way you wake up in the mornings.
Top PSN Sellers for December 2012 in North America
Sony has released the top 10 chart for the PlayStation Store in North America, revealing a number of re-entries to the chart. On the PS Vita, LittleBigPlanet PS Vita takes the top stot, beating new comer Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD. UNO on the PSP takes the top spot on the PSOne Classic chart after the recently discovered exploit.
PAL PlayStation Store Chart for December 2012
Sony has released December’s PSN chart for PAL regions, showing a number of new titles entering the chart. On the PS Vita, the top title was Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD followed by Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, both new entries.
Sony Admits PS Vita Sales are on the Low End of Expectations
Following Sony’s CES press conference this week, Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai admitted that PlayStation Vita sales are currently at the bottom end of the company’s expectations. The latest sales figures for the PS Vita haven’t been released yet, but the last official figure from June 2012 stands at 2.2 million units.
When Vikings Attack Patch v1.01 Now Available
A new patch for When Vikings Attack is now available on the PS Vita. The patch updates the game to versions v1.01 and is 12 MB in size. The changelog for the update reveals that the patch fixes minor issues with the online component of the game, including game matching and lobbies.
CES 2013: Nvidia Announce Portable Games Console
Chip manufacturer Nvidia has announced plans to produce its own hand-held video-games console, dubbed Project Shield. The portable device features a 5″ screen, capable of 720p, attached to a game-pad in a clam-shell design. The console will run Android on the company’s Tegra 4 processing chip.
Sony Pulls UNO from PlayStation Store
Sony has pulled another game from the PlayStation Store after another exploit allowing homebrew applications to run on the PS Vita is discovered. Gameloft’s PSP game UNO has been pulled from the store after it was discovered the game could be used to run unsigned code from modified game saves.
