Warner Bros has confirmed that Mortal Kombat will be releasing on the PlayStation Vita on May 4th 2012. According to Ed Boon, the Creative Director at NetherRealm, “The original game content and new features we developed for the PlayStation Vita will provide gamers with the best fighting game experience available on the new mobile platform.”
Sony has removed Everybody’s Tennis as well as MotorStorm Arctic Edge from the PlayStation Store after it was discovered that homebrew applications could be loaded onto the PlayStation Vita using an exploit. The homebrew loader, known as VHBL (Vita Half Byte Loader), uses a SAVEDATA exploit with these two games to load other homebrew applications.

Its looks like the launch of the PlayStation Vita wasn’t as successful as we were led to believe. Despite Sony selling 1.2 million units worldwide as of February 26th 2012, PocketGamer.biz reports that approximately 45,000 units were sold in the UK. Sony Computer Entertainment Inc, today announced that the sales of the PS Vita reached over 1.2 million units worldwide as of February 26, 2012. Software sales across the globe have surpassed 2.0 million units at both retail and on PlayStation Network.
Studio Liverpool, the developers behind WipEout 2048 on the PlayStation Vita, has revealed that it plans to support the Vita title by releasing free and paid DLC updates in the future. According to an interview with the game’s Lead Designer, Karl Jones, the team were planning to add new features and content to the title.
