The first episode of Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse will be available to purchase on the PlayStation Store tomorrow after the weekly Store update. Gamers will be able to pick up the game for €12.99, with a 20% discount for PS Plus members. The game has you playing as American George Stobbart and French journalist Nico Collard as they go on the trail of a stolen painting and a murderous conspiracy.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Vita Release Date Confirmed
Square Enix has revealed that the HD remakes of Final Fantasy X/X-2 will be coming to the PS Vita at the same time as the PS3 version hits North America and Europe. The PS3 version is scheduled to release in North America on March 18th 2014, followed by Europe on March 21st 2014. A limited edition of the PS3 version has also been revealed, featuring a 48-page art book as well as both games.
Sony Increases PlayStation Handheld Limit to 3 Devices
The PSN maintenance that occurred on Monday, 9th December, increased the number of portable devices that can be linked to a PSN. The previous limit was two, which means gamers can now link up to three PS Vita or PSP devices to their account, and download content to them. The maintenance period lasted for 7 hours, and followed the release of Firmware 3.01.
PlayStation Vita System Software Ver. 3.01
Sony has released a minor update for the PS Vita, updating the console’s system software to version 3.01. The update doesn’t add much, apart from improving the stability of the console, but it’s mandatory for all gamers wanting to access the PlayStation Network. It appears that the patch fixes some game exploits too.
Guerrilla Games Outlines Updates and Maps for Killzone: Mercenary
Guerrilla Cambridge, developer of Killzone Mercenary, has just released information about the updates the PS Vita game will receive over the next few months, including patches and multiplayer maps. Four updates have been planned so far, and it’s good to know that the first new update will reduce the size of the previous two patches by 800 MB – both patches were very large to begin with.
EU PS Vita Store Update for November 20th 2013
New content is available on the European PlayStation Store this week, but there is only a small amount of new content for the PS Vita this week, with two new games added. New games include The Amazing Spider Man and Media Molecule’s Tearaway, both of which release in Europe this Friday, 22nd November 2013.
Tearaway Launch Trailer, Demo Coming Friday
Tearaway releases on the PS Vita this week, with the game already available in Australia and New Zealand. To celebrate the launch of the game, Media Molecule have release the game’s launch trailer and a special Media Molecule trailer. In addition, if you are still unsure about the game, you’ll be able to download a trial version of the game on Friday, with the option to unlock the full version.
US PS Vita Store Update for November 19th 2013
New PS Vita games and DLC are available on the US PlayStation Store this week, including The Amazing Spider-Man. New PlayStation Plus content has also been added, with Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath joining the Instant Game Collection this week. Finally, you can find new DLC for games including Sound Shapes and Valhalla Knights 3.
PS4 to PS Vita Remote Play Can Work Over LTE Network
Sony has confirmed that Remote Play between the PS4 and PS Vita will work only over Wi-Fi networks, but YouTube user The Phawx has discovered that Remote Play can work over a LTE / 4G network using a mobile phone that allows tethering. You can create a Wi-Fi hotspot on your mobile phone (like the Google Nexus 5 Android device shown in the video) and connect the PS Vita to it.
PS Vita TV is Region Locked to Japan
If you were planning to import a PS Vita TV device from Japan, you’ll be sad to know that the device will be region locked. The device can only be used with a Japanese PSN account, so importers should wait for a Western release to make the most of the device. A post of NeoGAF says the device doesn’t work with non-Japanese accounts.
