Overnight, Sony released a new minor firmware update for the PS Vita, updating the system software to version v2.12. The update simply improves system software stability, but luckily it’s optional to install, so you won’t need it unless you are having issues on your portable console or unless a specific PS Vita game required the firmware to be installed.
Men’s Room Mayhem Coming to PS Vita
Sawfly Studios and Ripstone have announced a new indie game for the PS Vita, called Men’s Room Mayhem, and its exactly what it sounds like. In Men’s Room Mayhem you’re hired as the janitor of your very own chaotic men’s room. You’re responsible for directing patrons, keeping everywhere sparkling clean and steering patrons away from trouble. You need to get your customers safely to the urinals and cubicles in time – otherwise there’ll be a few nasty accidents for you to clean up.
EU PlayStation Store Update for May 1st 2013
The first PlayStation Store update for May is now live in Europe, and it includes new games and DLC for the PS Vita. New games include cross-buy title Zombie Tycoon II: Brainhov’s Revenge, and Machinarium on the PS Vita. New title Soul Sacrifice has also been added to the Store, and will be available to download from May 3rd 2013.
US PS Vita Store Update for April 30th 2013
Lots of new content is available on the PlayStation Store in North America this week, including cross-buy title Zombie Tycoon II: Brainhov’s Revenge, which is available on the PS3 and PS Vita, and is free to download if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber. A new playable demo and DLC content is available for a number of games.
Zombie Tycoon II Coming to PlayStation Plus Today
As April draws to a close, Sony has one last treat in store (pun intended) for PlayStation Plus subscribers in North America. Cross-buy title Zombie Tycoon II: Brainhov’s Revenge will be added to the Instant Game Collection in today’s weekly update, and can be downloaded for free on the PS3 or PS Vita. In addition, Sony is also having an enormous franchise sale on games with their characters featured in PlayStation All-Stars.
Puzzle Game Quell Memento Coming to PS Vita Soon
A new indie puzzle game, Quell Memento, is headed to the PS Vita, and will be available for download soon. The game prototype was originally created on an Amstrad CPC computer, way back in 1993, but back then it was called “Last of the Smileys” and was a lot more 8-bit in style. The game has over 150 puzzles to solve, as well as a backstory, that is revealed to the player at intervals throughout the game.
Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery Announced for PS Vita
Lucid Games has announced a new PSN title, Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery, for the PS Vita. The game is an episodic adventure brimming with weird and wonderful characters and a host of brain teasing puzzles. The game was developed using the powerful Unreal Engine 3, and features puzzles written by some of the worlds leading puzzle authors, as well story from the BAFTA nominated George Poles.

New PS Vita games have been added to the European PlayStation Store this week, including cross-buy title Thomas Was Alone and Draw Slasher. Thomas Was Alone is also available to download for free if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber. DLC and other new content has also been added to the PlayStation Store.

A few new games have been added to the PS Vita Store this week in North America, including cross-play indie title Thomas Was Alone and Draw Slasher. A few new PSP games have also been added to the PlayStation Store including Black Rock Shooter: The Game. For PlayStation Plus subscribers, SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny has been added to the Instant Game Collection.
Machinarium Arrives on PS Vita Next Week
Amanita Design’s puzzle point-and-click adventure game, Machinarium, will arrived on the PS Vita on May 1st 2013. The PS Vita will be the eighth platform to receive the game, with the game first releasing on the PC back in 2009. The game sees you take on the role of a robot called Josef (named after Josef Čapek, the creator of the word “robot”), who tackles the misdeeds of the Black Cap Brotherhood by solving puzzles and brainteasers.
