PS Vita / PS3 Cross Play is Far from Perfect
Sony advertises the PS3 / PS Vita cross-play compatibility as a key feature of certain games, including upcoming title PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, and recently released When Vikings Attack, but the feature is far from perfect. The PS3 and PS Vita systems are quite different and run different operating systems, which means not everything works as it should.
When Vikings Attack Review
When Vikings Attack is a quaint little cell-shaded game that puts you in charge of villagers to protect the streets, farmland, and night clubs of 1970s England. The cross-platform game is available on the PS Vita and PS3, supporting both cross-buy and cross-play, puts you in command of rioting villagers to remove the invading Vikings by any means necessary.
Sony Delays PlayStation Plus Reveal for PS Vita
This week, Sony were planning to release the first official details for PlayStation Plus on the PS Vita, but has now been delayed. “The blog post has been delayed until early next week while we finalise all the details,” said Plus’ Chris Howe, commenting on the Blog.
When Vikings Attack Available to Download
Those of you who have pre-ordered When Vikings Attack can now download the game, ahead of the game’s official release date of tomorrow in Europe. If not, the game will automatically be downloaded on to your PS3 before tomorrow. If you only own a PS Vita, you’ll be able to download the game from your download list, but the game isn’t playable yet.
PlayStation Plus Details for PS Vita Coming Next Week
Details about the PS Vita’s PlayStation Plus program will be unveiled next week, according to Chris Howe, the new PlayStation Store and Plus Content Manager at SCEE. Speaking in the comments of the latest Blog post, Howe confirms that the first details will be released next week, and will hopefully include details of cloud storage, automatic updates and free games.
Treasure Park Updated to Version v1.02
Sony has updated Treasure Park on the PS Vita to version v1.02. The minor update, which is 2.6MB, in size simply tweaks the gameplay mechanics for the game. You can update your version of the game from the LiveArea, by clicking on the orange update icon.
Publishers Continue to Rip Off European Gamers
This week, a number of new PS Vita games have been released on the PlayStation Store, including Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation (Ubisoft) and Need for Speed Most Wanted (EA). However, once again, Publishers are being unreasonable with prices and charging Europeans more for the same game than their American counterparts.
EU PlayStation Store Update for October 31st 2012
The last PlayStation Store update for October is now live in Europe, and includes a number of new PS Vita titles. Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Smart as… and other titles are available to download, along with new PlayStation Mobile titles, a new PS Vita demo, and a selection of DLC.
