During Sony’s E3 Press Conference, Call of Duty: Black Ops: Declassified was announced for the PS Vita, but actual details about the game were never revealed. That is until today. Walmart have managed to leak the game’s box art and description ahead of Activision’s announcement about the game.
WipEout HD & Fury DLC for WipEout 2048 Available from Today
Sony has confirmed that the WipEout HD and Fury expansion packs for WipEout 2048 on the PS Vita will be available on the PlayStation Store today in North America. For those of you who already own WipEout HD or WipEout HD Fury on your PS3, you can automatically download the PS Vita versions for free, and the same works vice-versa as well.
PS Vita Sale On PlayStation Store – Part 2
Week 2 of the 3 week PS Vita Sale is about to start tomorrow and this time Sony are focusing on PS Vita retail released games. Week 2 of this sale starts on June 20th until July 4th. If you missed anything from Week 1’s sale, it will be available until July 27th.
WipEout 2048 Updated to v1.04
WipEout 2048 on the PlayStation Vita has received a new patch, updating the game to version v1.04. The changelog in the update simply states “Various Bug Fixes” but following on from the post this morning about WipEout HD DLC content, the trophy list for the game has indeed been updated. The update is 142 MB in size – a quite significant update for just bug fixes…
WipEout HD & Fury Coming to PlayStation Vita
A screenshot of the trophy list for WipEout 2048 suggests that the PS Vita game will be getting WipEout HD and the WipEout HD Fury DLC pack as downloadable content. The addition of the new content will add a further 22 trophies to the game, and most likely add cross-save features to the game, allowing PS3 owners to continue their campaign on the PS Vita, though this has yet to be confirmed.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz E3 Trailer
E3 2012 seems like it happened ages ago, but content from the Expo is still being released two weeks on. The E3 trailer for Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz was released by Sega a few weeks after E3 – we double checked and this is indeed a new trailer (see below).
What We Want to See in PS Vita Firmware v2.0
The PS Vita is a great portable console, but the system software does have a long way to go before it can be called “perfect”. Like the PSP before it, Sony released firmware updates to add and update features on the console, making it better with each major update. The next big update to the PS Vita will be Firmware v2.0, and here is what we want to see included.
PS Vita Sales Continue to Grow Slowly
PS Vita sales worldwide are starting to grow slowly according to VGChartz. In week ending June 9th 2012, the PS Vita sold just over 50,000 units world wide – not a lot compared to the 3DS’ 135,000+ units – but a growth compared to the previous week’s 45,000 units. Week on week, the PS Vita’s sales increased by 10%, and exceeded the PSP’s sales, which is still going strong.
Sony Removes 4GB Memory Card from Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation Bundle
Sony has discretely removed the 4GB Memory Card that was supposed to be part of the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation bundle. At E3 2012, Sony announced a PS Vita white console, the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation game and a 4GB memory card would be included in the bundle, however, the product listing on the PlayStation Website shows that the 4GB memory card is no longer included.
Gran Theft Auto for PS Vita Mentioned In Survey
Another survey was carried out today for the PS Vita, following on from the Gran Turismo one we reported about earlier. This time, the survey mentioned Gran Theft Auto for the PS Vita, as well as a possible price for the title. The survey is a slightly modified version of the survey that went out a few days ago.
