Details about the PS Vita’s PlayStation Plus program will be unveiled next week, according to Chris Howe, the new PlayStation Store and Plus Content Manager at SCEE. Speaking in the comments of the latest Blog post, Howe confirms that the first details will be released next week, and will hopefully include details of cloud storage, automatic updates and free games.
The PS Vita has been selling as expected according to Sony, but it hasn’t been selling that well in general. With the holiday season just around the corner, the introduction of PlayStation Plus and the Instant Game Collection is exactly what the portable console needs to boost sales.
Sony has revealed that PlayStation Plus will be extending to the PS Vita this November, although a exact release date has not been revealed. Better still is that existing Plus subscribers won’t have to pay extra to extend the benefits onto their PS Vita. Plus on the PS Vita will offer the same benefits as on the PS3, including Instant Game Collection, discounts and more.
Sony has announced that PlayStation Plus will be coming to the PS Vita this year. The announcement was made at Sony’s Gamescom Press Conference last night in Cologne, Germany. PlayStation Plus will offer Vita owners the same value that PS3 users see, with exclusive offers, content and deals for members.
It looks like Sony are finally starting to discount PS Vita titles for PlayStation Plus subscribers in North America. This week, a number of Vita titles have been reduced, saving gamers 20% – 50% of normal prices. Although some of the games are pretty old, the discounts will encourage gamers to buy games they don’t already own.
The PlayStation Store is current into week 2 of its 3 week PS Vita promotion. If you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you can get a further 10% discount off the already discounted games in this week’s sale. Games like Unit 13 and Rayman Origins can be picked up for only £17.99 each.
A market research survey has been spotted mentioning the driving simulation game Gran Turismo for the PlayStation Vita. The survey goes on to mention discounts for gamers who already have Gran Turismo on the PS3 and using PlayStation Plus as a mechanism for gamers who own both the PS3 and the PS Vita.
Japanese developer Grasshopper Manufacture have announced that five games will be available to download for free by PlayStation Plus subscribers. The games, which were developed my Students in Japan, will be available to download on June 21st 2012.
