Sony has revealed (via Twitter) that a new firmware update for the PS Vita is now available to download. The minor update is optional to install and improves software stability during use of some features. The firmware updates the system software to version v2.02 and may be required by newer games.
New cross-play title Knytt Underground is available on the US PlayStation Store this week, as well as other new titles to enjoy over the holidays. New playable demos and plenty of DLC is also available on the Store, including new DLC for LittleBigPlanet and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
A part of PlayStation Home is now available on the PS Vita, at lease on the European PlayStation Store. The PlayStation Home Arcade is available to download, giving PS Vita owners access to a number of mini-games straight from PlayStation Home. The games include WipEout 2D, Ice Breaker and a one-level demo of Scribble Shooter.
Lots of new games are available on the PlayStation Store in Europe this week, including cross-play title Big Sky Infinity, which has also been added to the Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus subscribers. New PSOne titles and a selection of DLC is also available too.

Indie developer FuturLabs, who developed the highly-acclaimed PlayStation Minis title Velocity, has signed a development contract with Sony to produce games for the PS Vita. The deal means the developers keep full control of the IP but will get support from the platform holders to produce new games for the portable console.
New PS Vita games are available on the PlayStation Store this week, including Uncharted: Fight For Fortune. PS Mobile title Lemmings is available to download for free, but comes with in-game purchases. You can also find a selection of DLC content, PSP titles and a new minis title.
On the North American PlayStation Store this week, PS Vita owners can get their hands on the latest Uncharted game, Fight for Fortune, which is now available for purchase along with some DLC for it too. A couple of other titles are available too, along with DLC for a number of titles.
Sony has released a new firmware update for the PS Vita updating the console to version v2.01. As we reported earlier, Firmware v2.00 had a bug with synching savedata to the cloud, which has now been fixed in this minor update. The update is mandatory, even if you are not a PlayStation Plus subscriber.
Ratloop Asia has announced that PSN title Rocketbirds: Hardboid Chicken is coming to the PS Vita in Q1 of 2013. The game has been updated with new chapters; puzzles and humor; new Hardboild difficulty setting; and control changes to make use of the PS Vita’s unique features.
