The first PlayStation Store update for October is now live in North America, and PS Vita owners have plenty of new content to download. New Little King’s Story is now available for download, along with a bunch of newly compatible PSone classics, which includes a number of Final Fantasy titles. New DLC and a game demo are also available for download this week.

Sony Intends to Support PS Vita for 10 Years
IGN recently spoke to John Koller, SCEA’s Vice President of Hardware Marketing, about all things PlayStation. Like the PS3 and PS3 before it, Koller revealed that Sony intends to support the PS Vita for a full 10 years. “We’re in year one, so we’ll be supporting it for some time. But yeah, it does have its own 10-year life cycle,” says Koller.
EU PlayStation Store Update for September 26th 2012
New content is available for PS Vita on the European PlayStation Store this week, including FIFA 13 and New Little King’s Story. You’ll also be able to find a demo of Silent Hill: Book of Memories, new DLC, and new PSP and Minis titles too.
US PlayStation Store Update for September 25th 2012
LittleBigPlanet PS Vita is now available to download from the North American PlayStation Store this week – be sure to check out our review. A number of other new PS Vita titles are also available to download, including FIFA Soccer 13. New PSP and PSOne classics are available too, as well as new DLC content.
PS Vita Firmware v1.81 Blocks PSP Exploits
Recently release firmware v1.81 for the PS Vita has been confirmed to block PSP exploits on the system, namely, Nuer0n’s homebrew loader known as VHBL. Sony has patched the PS Vita system software to crash the console if attempting to use the PSP exploit found in games like Monster Hunter.
“Almost All” PS Vita Owners Own PS3 Too
SCEA VP of marketing, handhelds and home consoles John Koller has revealed that “almost all” PlayStation Vita owners are also PlayStation 3 owners, but exact figures weren’t revealed. When comparing the PS3/PS Vita to the Wii U, Koller said “We tell our PlayStation fans all the time that what the Wii U is offering is something that Vita and PS3 can do quite easily.”
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus 2 Announced For PS Vita
Tecmo have announced Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus 2 for PlayStation Vita at the Tokyo Game Show 2012. Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus was one of the Vita’s launch titles, so fans will be happy to see the sequel making an appearance on the portable console too. Not a lot of details about the game have been revealed, but it’s expected that the game will be an enhanced version of the console version released in 2009.
TGS 2012: Coming Reader Coming to PS Vita
At Sony’s Press Conference at the Tokyo Games Show, earlier today, the company revealed that an all-new comic reader will be heading to the PS Vita this October in Japan. Although details are scarce, the Comic Reader app will be similar to the one released on the PSP back in December 2009.
EU PlayStation Store Update for September 19th 2012
LittleBigPlanet for the PS Vita has been added to the European PlayStation store this week, but gamers in the UK will have to wait until Friday to be able to download it. New DLC for LittleBigPlanet has also been added to the store, as well as a selection of PSOne classics.
TGS 2012: Red and Blue PS Vita’s Coming to Japan in November
At the Tokyo Game Show earlier today, Sony revealed two new PS Vita colours, coming to Japan this November. The PS Vita will be available in “Cosmic Red” and “Sapphire Blue” , and will go on sale from November 15th 2012.
