The PS Vita is a great portable console, but the system software does have a long way to go before it can be called “perfect”. Like the PSP before it, Sony released firmware updates to add and update features on the console, making it better with each major update. The next big update to the PS Vita will be Firmware v2.0, and here is what we want to see included.

PS Vita Sales Continue to Grow Slowly
PS Vita sales worldwide are starting to grow slowly according to VGChartz. In week ending June 9th 2012, the PS Vita sold just over 50,000 units world wide – not a lot compared to the 3DS’ 135,000+ units – but a growth compared to the previous week’s 45,000 units. Week on week, the PS Vita’s sales increased by 10%, and exceeded the PSP’s sales, which is still going strong.
Sony Removes 4GB Memory Card from Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation Bundle
Sony has discretely removed the 4GB Memory Card that was supposed to be part of the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation bundle. At E3 2012, Sony announced a PS Vita white console, the Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation game and a 4GB memory card would be included in the bundle, however, the product listing on the PlayStation Website shows that the 4GB memory card is no longer included.
Gran Theft Auto for PS Vita Mentioned In Survey
Another survey was carried out today for the PS Vita, following on from the Gran Turismo one we reported about earlier. This time, the survey mentioned Gran Theft Auto for the PS Vita, as well as a possible price for the title. The survey is a slightly modified version of the survey that went out a few days ago.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz Coming to PS Vita on October 23rd 2012
Sega has revealed that the upcoming exclusive PS Vita title, Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz, will be released on October 23 2012. The game features 100 levels across five worlds made of Jungle, Clay, Wood, Metal and Cardboard. The game also features both local multiplayer and online multiplayer over Wifi — a first for the series.
Treasures of Montezuma Blitz Updated to v1.60
A new update for Treasures of Montezuma Blitz is now available on the PlayStation Vita. The update, which is 52MB in size, fixes trophy unlocking so the game doesn’t need to be restarted among other fixes.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz Trophy List
Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz features over 1,000 stages across five worlds. The game also has 51 unlockable trophies including the Platinum trophy. Check out the trophy list for the game below.
SCEE Liverpool Working on Unannounced PS3/PS Vita Title
The PlayStation Jobs site has revealed that SCEE’s Liverpool Studio are working on a yet unannounced PS3/PS Vita game, and are looking for an Audio Manager to work on the title. The job listings says Sony are “looking for an experienced, organised and extremely motivated Audio Manager/Audio Lead, based at SCEE Liverpool Studio, working on an as yet unannounced PS3/Vita.”
Gran Turismo for PS Vita Mentioned In Survey
A market research survey has been spotted mentioning the driving simulation game Gran Turismo for the PlayStation Vita. The survey goes on to mention discounts for gamers who already have Gran Turismo on the PS3 and using PlayStation Plus as a mechanism for gamers who own both the PS3 and the PS Vita.
