Sony has effectively sealed the fate of the PS Vita going forward after announcing that it is stopping development of first-party titles to focus on the PS4. SCE Senior VP Masayasu Ito revealed that there are no first-party titles in development, and since third parties are still developing for the PS Vita, Sony will be focusing on the PS4 instead.

Sony Releases Q3 Financials and Cuts PS Vita Sales Estimate
Sony has released the Q3 financial figures this morning, indicating the latest sales figures for the PS Vita and PSP consoles. Following the figures, Sony has yet again cut the PS Vita (and PSP) sales estimate for the year to just 7 million units combined. In the last financial report, Sony had cut the figure from 12 million units to 10 million.
FuturLab Signs Deal with Sony for PS Vita Games
Indie developer FuturLabs, who developed the highly-acclaimed PlayStation Minis title Velocity, has signed a development contract with Sony to produce games for the PS Vita. The deal means the developers keep full control of the IP but will get support from the platform holders to produce new games for the portable console.
Sony Still Has Lots of Unannounced PS Vita Titles
In interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu, SCE Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida revealed that many unannounced PS Vita titles are in development. Naturally, he didn’t reveal what the games are but the news leaves Vita fans with something to be excited about.

Sony Reveals Game Line-up for Gamescom 2012
Sony has revealed which games it will feature at Gamescom in Germany next month. Gamescom will take place between August 15th to 19th, with Sony’s press conference on August 14th 2012. In addition to revealing the games line-up, Sony has also noted that two unannouncement games will be revealed.
